Lagos Living || Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

Over the past three weeks, I have been residing in Lagos Nigeria since completing my B.Sc. program at the University of Ibadan. Should have put up posts detailing my good and bad experience so far but I have been caught up with work and clearance for the Youth Service program. Got a freelance job on the Island and if there’s anything fellow Lagosians can relate to, it is the stress of living in Lagos and how important it is to take time out to relax on days you’re not working. Saw the launch pictures of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Nigeria a while ago and I had it in mind to try it out.

Krispy Kreme Nigeria

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is an American doughnut and coffeehouse company newly launched in Nigeria and located presently in Ikeja City Mall. That happens to be the only branch in Nigeria. Apparently, Krispy Kreme is a brand existing in quite a number of countries, having over 1000 branches and they have been around since 1937.

My first impression of the place is that it looked great, haha like every other store in the mall though.  I love the aura of the restaurant and the music being played made the place lively. It took a while to decide what I wanted because there’s a whole lot of goodies present to choose from but the staff were really full of smiles and nice. Each table has a paper hat with the Krispy Kreme design.

I settled for the Caramel Kreme Crunch while my friend had New York Cheese Cake. Each cost N650 which is quite affordable. A certain bakery in Ibadan sells for almost the same price but plain doughnuts though. As much as I wanted to enjoy the doughnut I bought, it was rather too sweet at first. The doughnut was soft but the toppings had me cringing from the sugar in it. The Cheese Cake was much better though.

Diggin’ in!

Given that there are other doughnuts being sold, I have plans of trying almost everything on the menu someday. Going for the Original Glazed doughnuts and a latte next time. There are drinks available on the menu such as espresso, cappuccino and lattes. The doughnuts also come in a box of 3, 6 and 12 pieces as you may desire. If you can’t get enough, you could order a variety in a box which costs about N3000 and above.

  1. Hi Dammy, congratulations on the completion of your studies. Hmmm, been meaning to check out the store. Would do that when next I’m near ICM. I don’t have a sweet tooth though, I’d probably go with a friend.
