Hi readers!
How are you today? Good I hope. 5 best DSLR cameras for bloggers! I’m all about looking out for fellow bloggers hence the reason I drop blogging tips from time to time. Check out how to make your own clothes as a fashion blogger, five super tips for bloggers and five things not to do as a blogger.

I follow quite a number of blogs dutifully and I see some wishlists which I find funny because a lot of bloggers seem to think having a camera is a great part of running a blog. Don’t get me wrong, it is an important part of blogging but I don’t think having an high end camera as a blogger is compulsory. Every camera has its specifications but it depends on how you make use of it. The lens also plays a major role in how your images turn out.

Unless you’re a blogger and photographer, you don’t have to break your purse just to get a big camera. Alternatively, you could get photographers to help out with your shoots. A lot of top notch bloggers do that (including me most times) and it is great. There are great cameras out there but I have checked out 5 best DSLR cameras for bloggers.

So you want to get a camera and you don’t know which to go for? Pay attention. Personally, I like the Canon brand as this is the brand of the first camera I shot with and got used to quickly. Canon cameras are easy to shoot with and aren’t heavy to an extent. I have shot with Nikon and Sony though and they are great too but Canon remains a favorite.

However, I’ve got 5 best DSLR cameras for bloggers, vloggers and pretty much any beginner. These cameras won’t burn a hole in your pocket and if you’re a bargain finder, you could check out Queens Cinema in Ibadan for cheaper ones. You can check Otigba or Computer Village in Lagos for neatly used cameras that cost less too. These 5 best DSLR cameras for bloggers are:

1. Nikon D3300

This camera has a 24.2MP sensor that maximises image sharpness. It has a clever Guide Mode that is a useful learning tool that gives real-time explanations of important features. There is no touchscreen display or Wi-Fi connectivity but you can get a cheap plug-in Wi-Fi adaptor. I shot with it back in 2015 and it wasn’t that bad.

3. Canon EOS Rebel T6i

The EOS Rebel T6i features a 24.2MP sensor that delivers stunning image quality, there’s a solid AF system, built-in Wi-Fi and touch-sensitive screen. The screen can also be rotated which makes it great for vloggers. It has more comprehensive controls and superior image quality. This camera is a personal favorite of mine thanks to Ali Olamide. I shot with prime lens once and it works well.

4. Canon EOS 100D

If you need a super cheap camera that delivers, 100D got you. Although it was made in 2013, its quality is still great. It has 18MP sensor, a hybrid CMOS AF II variant and the three-inch screen that is touch-sensitive. The very first professional camera I shot with back in 2014 and fell in love with the picture quality immediately.

5. Canon EOS 700D

It has button controls that makes it intuitive to use. The 9-point autofocus system is also dated and there is no Wi-Fi connectivity. It has 18MP and a good video resolution of 1080p. I haven’t made use of this camera yet but I have heard good things about it.

  1. Queens cinema Ibadan???, ehn ehn, I never knew. I don’t like going to computer village alone, they are quite tricky. You should have specified the minimum cost price of each camera. I also heard/was told that buying a ‘fairly used is quite tricky’ , and most ain’t good.

Have you heard of Amkov?, yea its a camera, I saw on jumia, the price has hiked a bit (38k from 27k), so am kindof of contemplating, what do u think about it.

And its not because of blogging I need a camera tho.

    1. Hi Seyi,
Yes, Computer Village is renowned for its crime. I should have specified the price of each camera but there’s this excitement that comes with finding out the price yourself. I checked out the Amkov camera. I’m afraid it is not a popular brand which might make getting its parts or fixing it difficult if its get faulty or you need to change something. There are other Nikon compact cameras on Jumia.
