St Valentine’s Day tips

It’s about two days away from Valentine’s Day. Thought I’d put up this post for those who want to be creative this Valentine or would like to save money while celebrating.

First thing you should note is that there are lots of giveaway on various pages on social media now. Especially instagram. Look around and try your luck with those that you can. I’ve seen a couple that have fabulous gifts, romantic get away and dinners as giveaways. Cool eh? Don’t burst your savings in the name of celebration. If you can’t afford expensive things you’d like to buy, then don’t.

Now for gift ideas, it’s pretty easy to create if you put your mind to making something lovely for the person you’d like to give to.

1. Get a jar and cut up cardboards of three colors into squares. Then write on one type of cardboard reasons why you love the person, write on another one moments and memories sure to put a smile on the person’s face. For the last color, write songs lyrics or quotes that’d make the person smile. Now decorate the jar and wrap it up. Put a bow or glitters as you wish.

2. If the person happens to be a makeup lover, you can transform an ordinary jar or two or a tin into an awesome gift. Just get the jar and wrap it up. You could add glitter or stickers to jazz it up. Then you could paint a lovely message on the side for the person.

3. If you’re the type that fancy cooking, you could serve your beloved breakfast in bed. Get creative and spice up the food you cook. You could make it into heart shaped delicacy they’d definitely love.

4. Your presentation matters. Don’t just buy and give it to them like that. Let love radiate in the process. Put the gift in a fancy bag or go for the unique basket. Buy their favorite things and present in a basket.

5. Good old cards. This gift item is never going out of style. Make one yourself if you can or contact people who do and customise a card for that special someone. Otherwise, get one from a store. Cards happen to carry important and lovely messages to the receiver.

6. Unconventional gifts with catchy phrases, puns or sentences are awesome too.

 

7. Romantic dinner? Yes please. Make reservations at a fancy restaurant, go to an eatery or the mall. Even better, cook at home. Turn off the lights and bring out the candles.

However, if you happen to be single (like me) this Valentine, do maintain a positive attitude. It’s not the end of the world and being single is awesome. Treat yourself this Valentine and do not be jealous of the couples around you. Things are bound to happen at their own destined time. So have fun and be safe! Thank you! 💕💕
